A while back I had a accident while cutting my piggies tail, and her entire nail came off. It left a dried up area where the quick is. Today during floor time the dried up area became less dry... it broke. What should I do? Infection control and all? Is cast or something is good?image.webp

@HumanWithFurryPotats Their feet are too small to bandage

You'll need to make sure her cage is kept very clean until it has healed so it doesn't get infected.

Did it start to bleed again?

My piggy lost a nail and it grew back fine. It does take a little while and his cage needs to be extra clean. I changed mine off sawdust, using homemade fleece liners and puppy pads. Less messy, drier and easier to spot clean. I didn't bandage or wrap his foot just checked it daily to keep it clean. Their feet are very difficult to bandage and you could cause more harm. If the bandage is too tight you can cut the circulation to their toes and feet.
