Hi.

Just a quick question for if all goes to plan with baby boar and Bumble introduction.

I was going to do it in the bathroom on the floor but i was thinking would bathing them together help once initial introduction have taken place?

Or shall i do it in the bath itself with them already wet?

I so badly want it to go right......:...

I don't think bathing them makes much difference you can disguise there smell for so long...
(from what I've read) You could rub some of bumbles hay on the baby if you wanted? If he is 6-8weeks I think he is too young to be bathed not sure to be honest but I am sure I've read that somewere!

I would use the bathroom floor means they can tire each other out with chasing and I do find the bath quite cramped for introductions... hides with 2 exits and lots of delicious Vegetables. Try not too intervene and leave them too unless they start fighting obviously...

Be warned Bumble may do a lot of humping and babies are drama queens they have very high pitched squeals which they do exercise on occasions.

It can be quite stressful... good luck :) xx

Thats the full extent of my knowledge :)).

I wouldn't bathe. It's not recommended with babies anyway and it won't make much of a difference when introducing two new single piggies, frankly! At that age, both will want to be with somepig rather than being alone. A bath doesn't disguise the fact that it's down to how they mesh personality wise in the long run.

Bathing has a place when piggies have fallen out either because of too much testosterone, a separation after pregnancy/birthing or after an operation when piggies have lost the group smell - in short, when you have to re-introduce guinea pigs.

Using the bathroom floor is a good idea. Make sure that all awkward nooks and crannies have been blocked up and that you haven't got anywhere a baby can be backed into and bullied.

:)), all baby piggies are gorgeous, bet you won't be able to resist ;).

Wait till bumble gets a wee friend it is so cute watching them interact! :)

Bathing DOES work trust me its worked for me a few times now but again depends on the pigs :)

Bathing isn't unsafe for the young boar at all aslong as you dont use harsh medicated shampoos on them, If needed I use Gorgeous Guineas Mini Pig shampoo or if I have run out Baby Shampoo! and make sure they are fully dried. I would leave the bathing option to a last resort though.

You 'should' find that introducing them should go ok especially as one is an older boar. Please supervise though as a friendly start can go wrong quite quickly

Good Luck
:)

Well it all went Pete Tong! :0

Bumble was having none of it from the first instance and after chasing round the new baby ****gy coated agouti boy he bit him the naughty little boy! :(

Blood was drawn and the baby swiftly removed - it's a shame cos he is such a lovely little thing. The shelter said i can bring him back if it doesn't work out but i'm gonna give it a few days and may just keep him anyway cos he is a little trooper with what he has been through so early on in his life rolleyes

Must say i am surprised at Bumble though - afterwards he had a cuddle and was really clingy with me - it's no good, i'm going to have to get him snipped ") and get him a wife xoxo

I've had a few glasses of wine as my nerves have been shot all evening :)) and now i am ready for zzz

night, night :)p
