Could you please tell me what you use on the floor and how you manage to clean them?

Can the floors and grids be ordered on-line?

Many thanks

I use these and use correx, which is a corrugated plastic. It is easy to make a `box` shape stuck with strong tape. Full instructions here:

I got mine from Travis perkins and it is black but you can get it online or on ebay too in different colours I wouldn't sit the correx straight on the floor though. Mine are on MDF to keep it free from drafts and just incase of any leaks! My grids are coloured and I was lucky to get them on ebay for 99p ages ago but screwfix sell them as do B & Q.

Here is a pic of mine. The correx is easy to clean, I use white vinegar to clean the wee stains and disinfect every week.

So, if you use lino or MDF, do you use newspaper and just pull it up, or how do you get it out without huge mess and hay/wee/droppings all over your houses?

The cages sit on top of the MDF, then the correx sits inside the grids and on top of the MDF. The correx is made into a box shape, so it comes up the sides as you can see in the top cage. I used to use lino but I found that the correx and the lino together sort of sweated and it smelt, since using MDF, I have not had a problem. It doesn't have to be MDF, another type of wood, an old coffee table etc is fine. Just to point out though that my pigs dont nibble the MDF, I wouldnt use it otherwise.

I line the correx with newspaper. You can then either use fleece/vetbed. Vetbed is great as you change the paper underneath, sweep off the poops and put clean newspaper down etc I change the vetbed twice a week. At the back of the cages where you can see hay, I use aubiose on top of the newspaper, then hay. In my top cage which is the largest, I use newspaper, aubiose and have a big pile of hay in one corner.

i used to use a sheet of damp-proof-course membrane then towels and fleece, but recently my husband found a big piece of perspex in a skip and i use that now, can't believe he walked all the way home carrying it but i'm so glad he did as it's much more industrial and good for scrubbing! :))
