I've had an outbreak of Ringworm in the piggies, since our move. Can only imagine the stress of moving and there new environment, has lowered my little Pebbles immune system. I'm just hoping I can stay Ringworm free.

Poor Girly, It's looking a lot better all ready - 3 more baths to go!

I did Pebbles first since, as she is obviously infected. When I brought Wilma out I turned her over to check her skin. Only to discover she had some kind of object coming out her Vulva, I put a little pressure on it unsure initially to what it was. Then it dawned on me, it was a stone I put her down to go find my phone only to return to find she'd passed it phew. No need for the E-vet although I'll be keeping a close eye and have given her a little Painkiller. She is already passing urine, so that's a huge relief.

Here's the troublemakers.

Oh god, that's a lot to go through in a short time. Hope they all get over their Ringworm quickly, are you using Imaverol?

Can't believe the stone just popped out like that.

Me either Helen, it was on it's way out I might have helped a little trying to work out what it was but Wilma most certainly did the work. Poor Girly!

Yes - we've had our first round of Imaverol baths just waiting on there cage drying and my 60 degree wash to finish. Quite the evening, we haven't had anything happen in so long think the piggies felt they needed to test my ability to stay calm :lol!:

Oh bless her. Must have been painful.

Imaverol is great stuff, should get rid if it quickly. Hope you're ok and don't get it too.

Me too, finger's crossed. Just goes to show Ringworm can appear from anywhere. Hopefully it goes quickly, it certainly appeared quick enough! x

You can apply the Imaverol topically between the weekly dips too.

Oh no what bad luck. That stone is so big! It must have been very painful. Poor little girl. I really hope the ringworm clears soon.

Yes, I just need to go and remind myself the ratios. Give me 5 minutes.

Is that for the dips?

Topical is 5ml Imaverol to 50ml water and apply 3 times daily.

For dips I do 10ml Imaverol to 2 pints of water, strange I know but is how I was told and what I remember, should convert the pints to metric really. Ross just said 2 pints is about a litre so think that's the same as you but on a large scale.

That was the dips rational, I'm so paranoid about catching it. What can I use on me if I do get it Imaverol?

I think you can get a cream from the chemist. Not sure what, maybe Daktarin? best to ask at the counter.

Have you got stuff like F10 handgel and handwash and F10 discinfectant?

Yes, got all that stuff. I've been using Canestan cream on Pebbles initially as I noticed the outbreak yesterday when everything was closed. I have had her out everyday, so I'm thinking it's likely I'm going to get it. I just don't know, I'm currently putting canestan on every spot I see! Not good.

Oh dear. Maybe go to the pharmacy tomorrow and get stuff in case then?

Yeah think I will, means I can treat me straight away if I do get it. The vet did tell me that after one outbreak of Ringworm humans become immune.

Oh no Jo :( Glad that stone passed, poor little thing. Hope you can clear the ringworm up quickly. Lots of healing vibes x

My Vanilla is just getting over ringworm. I was worried about catching it too but as long as you wash you hand thoroughly and stuff you should be fine. I have psoriasis on my hands so i had to be extra careful but i was okay so i wouldn't worry about it.

Poor pigs & slave - hope you all get sorted soon.

That's good to know, I'm feeling a lot better now I have everything cleaned up and the pig's back in there cages. On the bright side only one has obvious signs so hopefully me and the other pig's will be fine!

Just waiting on my 60 degree wash to finish

Poor girls! That must have been painful for her to pass :( I feel lucky looking at those pics; Piglet had RW but it didn't look nearly as bad as that. Feel better pigs xx.

oh i know, its like panic stations when something up with a piggie. I read about using a thin bleach solution and watering it down a good bit to clean the cages as long as you make sure to rinse it all off.

and imaverol is amazing, a few baths and Vanilla was all better! :)

I ended up making the imaverol into a spray to and using it on there cage, still only one pig Pebbles showing signs and Wilma seems to be alright since passing the stone keeping a close eye for anymore poor girly!

Thanks for the well wishes, round 2 starts tomorrow.

Hoping you have it contained Jo x

Thanks Everyone, Today was Round 2

Pebbles is looking better already, Milo had a very small scab under his eye. I'm unsure if it's related to the ringworm or not. I've removed the Scabs and soaked the area in Imaverol just to be on the safe side. x
