I got home from work to the news that we had to have our lovely little Bob put to sleep today. He was just over 3 and we had had him since he was born, as he unexpectedly arrived when our original piggy gave birth. He was originally Bessie as we were told he was a girl, but that soon changed when the girl he was living with gave birth!
He was a gorgeous little pig with lots of different colours and always had a little 'skirt' start to grow when it started getting cold.
He had always had a small lump on his leg, but the vets said it wasn't dangerous and it never affected him. Recently it started getting bigger, and then today my mum noticed he wasn't himself so she took him to be checked out. The vets said it would have only just started being painful for him as they could tell it was starting to get poisonous, but an operation would be a risk because he is 3. My family made the hard decision to have him put to sleep, so that we wouldn't have to put him through the pain of an op, and we knew that he was happy, eating well and running around up until now, so it does comfort me to know we did the right thing and theres no chance of him suffering now.
RIP little Bob, I hope you're having a good time being reuinted with your brother Cody!
