Alfie was put to sleep today at 5:23pm aged two and a half.
He'd been diagnosed with a urine tract infection exactly 7 days ago and was asked to come back for a check-up today.
This morning he seemed fine. He was walking about, had a bit to eat (his appetite was a bit off) and then went to lie next to his frozen bottle.
We went to get him to take him to the vet and found him lying limply on his side. When we arrived he got worse and the vet saw us immediately. He offered to take Alfie to the surgery, just up the road, but said that it wasn't likely he'd survive and that he would need lots of surgery, oxygen tent, etc.
The decision was made to put him to sleep to end the pain he was in.
It all happened so quickly. I thought he was getting better. I'm so devastated but the vets were wonderful.
Rest in peace little one 8...
