I have just found Sally my gerbil lying by a tube dead :'( She was breathing abit heavy yesterday and she is 2 1/2 years old, my first pets as my own responsibility :'( Poor Geri her sister is snifing around her they have been together since birth, jeez i can't stop crying :'(

R.I.P Sally, me and Geri will miss you so much.

Thankyou, i don't even know why she died. She was drinking water last night and her breathing was pretty fast, maybe that was a sign. She was in the nest this orning and while i was watching telly in the other room she moved away from her nest and died next to the tubes. :'( Geri has been sniffing her for a while and shemust know she's dead so have put herin a petshop hamster box with some of there bedding and now have to wait for my parents to comeback so i can bur her :'( Watching my sis so i can't leave her alone. Geri's just sitting in her nest all alone, they liked to snuggle together :'(

I still remember the day i got them, i was only 16 and my daand brother went and bought a hamster that he promised he would let me go choose.So instead he said i could go choose my own hamster and fell in love with these guys instead and ended up with 2after the lady at P@H said it was best keeping them in pairs :)

Have run digging tunnels at the bridge my special tap dancing girl :smitten:

Thanks, such a lovely funny girl. Made my family laugh so much with her funny antics with Geri. Still missing her so much just an empty little space :(

I know how you are feeling, we had 2 gerbils up until a few months ago when we lost Rose, and Sissy her sister is very near the end now too, she is very old at 4 years, and is sleeping more and more lately, less lively, but a very sweet old gerbil, it's soooo sad,Big hugs,you'll have to try and give geri more attention, as gerbils tend to pine when they lose their friends, they don't like being alone. This is what we have done.

Thankyou everyone :) Geri was very quiet for a few days she didn't eat or drink anything from being on her own. Advice on agerbil forum said to clean her cage out so i did on Monday and she has livened up alot, is eating and drinking and building tunnels as normal. Yesterday i left her lid of accidently to come bac and she popped out from under my monitorand gave me a fright, lol. I've been reading alot on a gerbil forum and me and my mam have decided to use split method and put 2 babies on the other side sowether Geri lives a few months or another year she can be with friends :) She's only 2 1/2 she can still live a while yet :)
