Hoping to get a rabbit soon so I am becoming bunny broody. I need to have the bunnys den set up. Bunny will be a free range house bunny most of the day. Does anyone have housebuns? If so could you post some pics of their homes for ideas please.

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww x)

Debbie (aka furryfriends) had a house rabbit, his name was Schmichael he was the most amazing bun........he followed Debbie everywhere and also was a wonderful guardian to her piggies that she'd have inside x)

Hopefully someone can give you some tips, perhaps you could pm Debbie :)

I have two house bunnies :) They are amazing!

Are you getting two? Rabbits are a bit like piggies and aren't really wired to live on their own. The best pairing is a neutered male/spayed female. All bunnies should be neutered/spayed due to the increased risk of health issues later in life. Also having the neutered/spayed makes a huge difference to their personality (calmer) :)

Also, I am sure you are aware, even if your bunny/s are always going to be in doors they still require their VHD vaccination yearly and their Myxi vaccine every 6 months. There have been recent reports of house bunnies dying from myxi as the owners don't think they need it if they live inside.

Anyway....about housing. We have a large extension and the rabbits are free range within that. The have a plastic dog basket which is lined with newspaper/wood shavings and LOTS of hay. They use this to eat their hay and for doing the toilet. They get fresh hay 3 times a day and their tray is cleaned every 3 days. Also within the extension (which is our kitchen/utility room/study area) there are a couple of mats/towels that the rabbits lie on.

I will try and take some photos to show you :)

Hi I have a house bunny. His favourite place is under my bed! You will need to make sure you rabbit proof your home by removing all wires and cables as they will be chewed. Your bunny will climb things so ensure there are no dangers. They like to have tunnels, boxes to go in and out of and plenty of things to chew. I cannot wait to see pictures of your new baby. :)
