Teenage Guinea Pig
Hi guys! I reacently got a rabbit. He is a baby netherland dwarf who is very docile and small. I just want to know the risks of housing rabbits in the same room as guinea pigs. Thank you!
As long as they don't come in contanct with eath I think it should be fine?
Alright, thank you! I know someone whos rabbit hand URI and their cavies contracted it since it's extremely contagious. It wiped out their whole herd, so I just want to be a little extra cautious.
I don't have room for another rabbit. A lot of people I know have rabbits by themselves and they're just fine, especially because they are free roam. He is free roam in my room, has stairs to my bed so he can come see me, and I give him attention and play with him when ever I can. Please remember that rabbits need other rabbits, just like guine pigs need other guinea pigs.
Hi. Rabbits are miserable without a friend. Just because lots of people do it, it doesn't make it right. When you are out it will be lonely. To see two bonded rabbits together is a joy. If he has free range of your room then you have room for two rabbits.I don't have room for another rabbit. Thank you for the advice! I will be looking around for another while he is still young!Hi. Rabbits are miserable without a friend. Just because lots of people do it, it doesn't make it right. We only rehome rabbits to live alone if they are difficult to bond. As a young rabbit he should be easy to bond. Get him neutered and that will prevent humping and spraying of urine. Then contact a local rabbit rescue for advice on finding him a lovely lady friend. You won't regret it.
Remember house rabbits still need immunising against myxomatosis and VHD 1 &2 as infection can be carried in on clothing or by insects.
I love nethies they are gorgeous. Here is my bunny Bourbon who has two lady friendsView attachment 78886
