Is it ok to put piggies in front of a radiator if it is on? Obviously not touchng the radiator but a few inches in front of it? I have two places for the piggies to go and one is in front of the radiator but i am concerned about putting them in front of it...:{

Anyone do this or not?

i think best not to be in direct hit of the radiator. the changes in high to low temperature when it turns off can affect them and the air can get quite dry round them. I wouldnt suggest this.

Well i didnt think it was ok either but i have seen a few photos with piggies in runs in front of radiators and was wondering about it...
But no, i dont want to put them there really!

One of our indoor cages is in front of a radiator but that one is permanently turned off so there are no heat fluctuations maybe the other people have done the same? :) I hope they have.

Personally I would not because they can kick out some heat and for a piggy it may be too much

I wouldn't put them infront of the radiator.

Just put yourself infront of it for any length of time and then move away or turn the thing off....you get cold quite quickly and that's a recipe for disaster in piggies, catching colds, pneumonia at the worst etc., just think about it.

Yeah i know. I did say i wasnt going to do it and i was concerned before hand anyway... It was really a case of double checking that it wasnt safe

our girls' cage is infron of a radiater, but it is higher than it and we dont use it. we have two radiators in the room,the other is at the other end of the room.

My cage is kind of near a radiator - it's at the side of it - however the pig cage is 5 1/2 grids long so they can get over 5ft away from it so I see no problem.
