So new owner to two pigs! Have a outdoor hutch n a raincover i say loosely cos the floor is soaking when it rains! Its raised off the ground has a sloped roof all indicate it should be dry. We put lino on the floor for easy cleaning but its getting wet... Any ideas? Ive draped a pladtic psinting sheet (v thin and not airtight of course) over tonight as is going to rain but am i missing something? The fitted raincover/cooler/thermal coat has airholes ehich is ace but thats how the rains getting in....

where are the air holes/vents? are they in the front over the wire mesh door? maybe you could roll up some stiff cardboard into a tube & poke through the air vent & into the mesh behind. or if you have some plastic pipe (as long as not in chewing reach) this would make it more difficult for the wet to get in but still keep the air vent open - not sure i have explained it very well but i know what i mean - i'll expand on it if you're not sure what i mean! xx

Yes I never though of that for tonight ive used a sheet and that will come off when its dry but ill see if i can fathom the holes. I already have put card over a mesh in the bedroom area to keep it dark and that hasnt got damp yet so could work thank you!

And this eould make it more tight to the cage also! This guinea pig lark is hard wrk but they are awesome i feel like ive gained two more kids the respondibility!

they have us all well trained ;):D

maybe if i was to say put a tube/pipe through the doorway mesh pushing from the inside out, make sure the pipe then goes through cover's air hole. (pipe/tube should be horizontal to stay in the hole, not blocking it off.
hmm - i could never write instruction books... I'm rubbish!lol :mal:

Lol! The floor is dry this morning with the plastic rain sheet over the top so I'm pretty happy using that for very wet days, ill be back for more advice when its hot/cold/icy! X
