My name is Ralphie and I need a friend. All my other "Pig Brother House" friend have passed away :(

Would anybody like to come and live with me in the "Pig Brother House"?

I hope your slaves find you a lovely new friend soon

Wheeks and popcorns from us boys

Try our rescue locator at the top of the page to find places that will help Ralphie find a friend.... The Potteries Guinea pIg Rescue in Stoke may be an option for you. They are fab and have helped me out on many an occasion!

The slaves only seem to be able to find pairs of friends, but fear I wont like pairs of boys as I'm a feist little pig myself ;) Wouldnt mind if they were wives who had had the you know what ! No babies wanted here.

Come on everybody get your thinking caps on

Lover Ralphie

Youy are right Ralphie! A pair of boys would be no good for you as three's a crowd but most rescues have lone males they can help pair you up with but often not advertised on their websites so always call or email to ask! Most of them are very good at finding little boys a friend they like so don't discount a male companion! My boys have been dating a number of times after bereavements and each time we've come home with a fantastic new addition to the family.

Your other option.... (close your ears Ralphie) is to have him neutered by an experienced and recommended vet and after a 6week time alone to avoid any accidental furry surprises you could find Ralphie a wife or two or three that he likes. Again a rescue will be able to help bonding as piggies can be fussy finding friends. Spayed sows are far less common as it's a more risky operation and most rescues will not spay without another health related reason for it.

Don't worry Ralphie, Piggy rescues are used to all sorts of piggies, bossy, shy and everything in between! They will be able to suggest a friend who gets on well with a more enthusiastic piggy.

Not sure to be honest. I would check with a vet. At his age they might consider him a little higher risk. I don't know where you are in the world but if you are in the UK then Simon Maddock in Northampton has an excellent record for neutering and other surgery in piggies so it might be worth phoning to ask his advice about Ralphie.

At 5 he'd be a good age to make friends with a baby male piggy. I had a 5-year old who made a brilliant uncle pig to a baby lad who was in rescue. It suited them both well until the inevitable happened and then the 'baby' of the pair went on to find a new friend of his own.
