I’ve just bought a Chartwell double hutch, just wondering if anyone has any advice regarding the ramp? I know Gp’s aren’t natural climbers but my boy is particularly adventurous 😂
The ramp however looks slightly daunting! Has anyone modified one for easier use? 🤔

I put old carpet on mine with waterproof carpet tape, let the piggies run over it to sent mark it, popped it back in the hutch and they were running up and down in no time. The carpet helps them to grip the ramp. Can't remember if the ramp comes with sides or if you have to put them on yourself? If you have to put them on yourself, ensure that you do or else your piggies may fall off and injure themselves. Some members have invested in fleecy ramp tunnels. Not sure where you would get them from though.

It does have sides..
.. I like the idea of letting them scent it first 👍🏻👍🏻
If anyone knows where to buy fleecy ramps tunnels?

I bought some guttering and put some material up it for them to grip.

I have also used flexible tubes that you can get for guinea pigs that are rubbed and the pigs can grip on that.

Mine was slippy and didn't have a side so we popped a side on and an offcut of carpet and they use it so easily

Hi everybody
Thanks for your advice! I’ve used some vetbed and stuck it to the ramp with Velcro, my boar is up and down it like a whiz! The girl isn’t interested but she’s timid anyway so I’m not surprised... just wanted to update on what I decided on and to say it’s done the job 👍🏻
