Rapunzel visits tornado victims

Rapunzel and I made the trip up to Dayton, OH (about an hour drive) with our therapy pet group today to visit with victims of a recent strong tornado. We visited the American Red Cross office where employees from all over the US have come to help. Then we went to a church that is being used as a shelter for victims who have lost their homes and have no where to stay. Many of the families have either lost their pets or have to be separated from their pets until they find a new place to live. So it was bittersweet for a lot of people to see Rapunzel and her therapy dog friends. Here is a link to our news story and some photos of the damage in Dayton.

The work animals and pets like Rapunzel do is immensely important. There isn't enough credit given to the difference a visit from a therapy pet can make. Thank you, and Rapunzel, for the work you do.

99% the dog would be dead. And no somehow he survived without any major injuries by the looks of things

The devastation caused is horrific ... I feel for all those people who have experienced this..

Oh, thats looks like a devastating disaster. Its a shame some people lost their pets. But the love that Rapunzel and the therapy dogs gave probably helped alot.

One of my friends sent me an article on Facebook with a picture of Rapunzel! Thanks for the good work you do! I had looked into trying to register my pigs as therapy animals, but in my area they will only certify dogs and cats and I can't find an organization that is willing to take on a guinea pig.
