I took Rapunzel visiting at the hospital today. We visited with cancer patients getting chemo and people waiting to be taken back for surgery. It was awesome seeing people who are going through something awful, light up and smile when they see my little furball! One of the surgeons came over and said that he was having a really rough day, he started petting Rapunzel and said he could feel his blood pressure going down! She even gets her own ID badge!BAFFE397-6C1F-454B-8B64-127B9D175FB8.webp

This is amazing, a little piggie volunteer, brightening people’s day up when they are feeling at their most vulnerable and poorly. You are doing a wonderful thing there x

How wonderful, and what a very special piggy indeed.
One of my dogs was registered as a therapy dog, and I know the nurses always said that people who give up their time to do things like this make such a huge difference to the lives of patients and their families.
Well done ot both you and Rapunzel - I have no doubt she will continue to make a lot of people happy for many years to come.

I'm so glad you are doing this! People need to know more how therapeutic the guinea pigs are. My piggies certainly are. The joy you must have brought to them! Well done to you and Rapunzel!

The guy that mentored me for my first visit has two standard poodles as therapy pets. This is the first guinea pig in the organization and I could tell he was a little leery and wasn’t sure people would like to see a guinea pig. Boy did we prove him wrong! She was the star of the whole hospital, people would pet his dog and then when they noticed I was holding something they would get all excited and say “oh my, is that a guinea pig!” My mom went with me on my next visit and couldn’t believe the response Rapunzel got!
