Rash Near Mouth

Curious if anybody knows what this rash is? It appeared about a week ago and his cage buddy shows no signs of it at all.

Hi and welcome

Please have your guinea pig checked for a potential fungal infection. The time between infection and acute outbreak is 10-14 days. There are other forms of fungal; ringworm is just the most aggressive and transmittable and the only one that is lab tested.
If you have got newly acquired guinea pigs, you can reclaim any vet cost from the shop by presenting the sales receipt together with the vet bill if exposure and infection must have happened at the shop. This covers the first 2-3 weeks.
Ringworm: Hygiene And Pictures

I generally use one of the Medivet branches here in Coventry for my own guinea pigs for any issues that don't require specialist care or operations, in which case I see a vet in Northampton. Medivet are general vets, but they are perfectly fine for any routine stuff.

Good evening, and thank you.

I've taken the advice and acted upon it by requesting an appointment to see the vet on Tuesday, although it may be too late I've also decided to quarantine them both from each other and divided the cage so if there is anything infectious then it can be controlled whilst they both get better (Hopefully all is good)!

Thank you for the vet details as well, however for now I'm going to continue using Companion Care in Walsgrave as it's a lot more convenient for me.

I would not separate as you have to treat both piggies anyway, which is standard for any skin parasites and fungal. Splitting is more important when you have an outbreak in a larger group and do it straight away.
