One of my piggies has made this funny rasping sound a couple of times. It doesn't sound like a sneeze but it sounds like its coming from his throat like a rasp, does that make sense? Does anyone have any idea what it could be. I'm happy to take him to the vets if need be but thought I would check it put n here first. He is eating and drinking, pooping and weeping fine. E erythng else seems normal. They are inside and have lots of love,y warm hay to snuggle in

if he has raspy breathing he needs to see a vet. but from your description it sounds as if it is something he just does once every so often which may be a cough. sometimes piggies give a little cough when they are eating, as if something has caught in their throat.
if ever in doubt i would always advise a trip to the vet incase it is something serious. :)

Wipe his nose with a cue tip, if it's kinda wet he could have a cold or something, otherwise it helps clear the nostrils, you have to go in the nostril (not push it in, just where the opening is). don't panic, my pigs have rasping/rattling on and off, I worked out it was when they were given readigrass, even the vet said their chests were clear. x

Oh ok thank you for your replies. I will see how it goes and if I need to I will take him to our vets
