we rescued Benji about 6-7 months ago now and he’s been in very good health, he still is except today he has a strange rasping sound, when I told him to my ear I can hear his breathing. He’s eating and drinking and pooping fine. As far as I know this has never happened before, just today. It sounds like a URI but he has none of the other symptoms. Does anyone suspect anything else?
 
Could be the start of a URI, best have a vet look him over just to be on the side of caution.

If the sound is not going away, please have him vet checked. it can be the start of a URI, a respiratory infection. You will be likely given an antibiotic, just to be on the safe side, as URI can kill, before your vet will consider any other possibilities.
