I know this is stupid but the vet told me to blend some carrots for baz. But wont raw carrots be hard to blend and i know your not ment to give cooked food to a piggie

When Madam was ill & wouldn't eat I finely grated a mix of mainly carrots + some apple, red pepper & melon. This was then syringe fed.

Grating is often better than blending for piggies. But if your piggy is not well and not eating properly, you need to hand feed/syringe either mushed up pellets or Critical Care. Fibre is the most important part of a piggy diet and essential to keep the guts stable.

Here are tips and amounts necessary for hand feeding: http://www.guinealynx.info/handfeeding.html

Please always weigh a sick piggy daily to keep track of the food intake. You may see them eat, but it may not be enough! Weigh your healthy piggies weekly in order to spot any health problems early on when they can be addressed much more easily.

Hi there, First there be interested to know Why exactly as your vet suggested this?

Different pigs have different care requirements, how do you intend feeding the "blended" carrot?

I have a pig that had to have an incisor removed and the only way to stop the two healthy ones from being bevelled by the single bottom incisor is to grate carrots and other the vegetables , so that he doesn't have to apply any undue force

I can't honestly see you having any problems blending carrots, I don't blend them herself but I do juice all manner of vegetables,

I mix the juice with Milled food pellets to make syringe slurry/paste, this makes feeding poorly pigs easier by giving them a more pleasurable experience.

I will chime with gizzy, you can always just blend your raw veggies in a blender, with hay and critical care and add some organic juice or baby food, or even just try organic carrot baby food with nothing added. I think most important is that your piggy eat.
