I wonder if I can ask, on an average end I know there will be different piggys who drink more than others but what is an average intake of water per piggy per day?

The reason why I ask is that one of my piggys drinks so much more than the other and everytime I hear the water bottle get used its only ever one of my piggys I see using it. Can I ask is it normal for him to be eating hay for say 5 mins and then going for a drink to then go back go back to the hay and then back to the water bottle.

Any thoughts welcome

I think it depends on the individual. Bertie got rushed to the vets in the summer as he was going through water like nobodys business and had a very wet chin which made me think dental problems. £25 later and Simon peering in Berts mouth! I was assured he was probably playing with the bottle! New water bottle and yes he does play, sort of knocks it and slurps from the side of the spout and then watches it drip on the floor and does it again. My girls have little lady like slurps so I dont think you need worry.

Hi, my pigs vary with their water - but then that's only what I see, I'm not in the room with them 24 hours a day and I know from sleeping next to them during illness / recovery that they both drink during the night. I tend to judge by the wees in the cage - as long as there are wees I know they are getting water! Also useful to monitor if there suddenly seems more / less than usual.

Ah, I just realised that my pigs live separately so I can easily monitor their 'output', whereas yours might all be in together, sorry!
