I have 2 guinea pigs that are about a year and a half old, I love them loads but i cant handle them anymore as i get a really bad rash. Also now when i wake up in a morning i struggle to breath i think my allergy is getting worse :(:( for that reason i am trying to find a home for them but i want to make sure that they are loved and properly looked after as one of them i suspect is blind. I am really upset i have to let them go but not sure on how to find them a new home one that i know they will be looked after in. Anybody have any suggestions? ( I live in Newcastle Upon Tyne)
 
I am really sorry to hear this. Have you tried taking an antihistamine? I am allergic to my piggies and this really helps me.

I have took 1 everyday for the last year and sometimes a nasal spray when its really bad still doesnt help the rash :(
 
Have you tried contacting your local rescue. Not only will they recieve expert care there but they will be matched with a family which will match their personality and a family that have been carefully homechecked.

It is so sad that you are having to do this. A friend of mine has severe allergies which mean she cannot even be around me if I have been handling my piggies. So I do understand.

I would rather find somebody i know would look after them properly - they are my babies and i need to know they are going to be loved as much as i love them :(
