I could do with some advice....

we got Pompom and Pigwig together in september, both young females and they were happy together for 4 weeks until we discovered Pigwig had had two babies {:| anyway.. (thats another thread lol!) we split them up and put Pompom on her own (not knowing at the time if she was actually a male!) also the babies were very underweight and we wanted them to have the best chance. Now, 5 weeks on and Pigwig has 2 confirmed girls Treacle and Boo so we decided to reintroduce Pompom to them - on neutral territiory of course. It did not go well the first time.. blood was drawn Pompom is the aggresive pig without a doubt and she attacked Pigwig biting through her ear. I even tried the bath teqnique with no luck. Today I put Pompom out in the run inside a crate so they could all sniff and squeak without contact and it went well... so well (no chattering or hissing like last time) in fact I thought Id give it one last shot.... and so far so good! :)):)):))

There IS some nipping and chasing going on... Pompom is doing this to all 3 of the others but it isnt sustained and they are all grazing on the grass together most of the time. No rearing up, no chattering or barred teeth like last time. My big question is........ shall I put them all back in the hutch together tonight or not..........? It is cleaned out... I could put the ramp in (with a tunnel so babies cant fall down it) they have 2 food bowls, 2 water bottles, 4 fleece snugglescas and 2 igloos..........! I dont want to find an injured guineapig in the morning though... but if i seperate them tonight.. will we be back to square one next time they get chance to go out in the run? (forecast to snow tomorrow! ) sorry for the looooong post.......... but any advice very very appreciated :))

I'm probably way too late - but you are right, if you don't have them all in together then it will be back to square one again next time. Fingers crossed for you.
