One of our piggies has/had loose stool. We took her to the vet and was told after a week of hay, she could have fresh veggies again, but start slow. Her poop seems to almost where normal guinea pig poop should be. She is begging for fresh veggies. What would be the best first to introduce? I don't know if I will be introducing it tomorrow, I will check her poop in the morning to see. But I want to go out and buy a good veggie for her. Right now the other ones are eating roman lettuce, carrots, and green peppers. That is what we happen to have in the house right now that they like. I also have fruits, but I assume those I should hold off for a while.

I would start with peppers and keep a food diary as you introduce so you know any problem causing food. Continue to try and feed lots of hay

How is she doing?

She is now back to no veggies. We gave her a bath last night to get all the poop off her toes. It was back this morning, so I know her stool is loose. We see the vet on Wed. I might have to take her off the pellets also, only hay. I am just concerned about vitamin C.

Keep her on pellets that shouldn't be an issue. Have they sent a poo off for culture?

What veg had she tried?

I brought a poo sample last time I went to the vet, but she didn't use it.
As for veggies. She tried a tiny (like the size of a thumb nail) piece of green pepper, twice.

Hmmmm

I would ask to get the poo sent away. When she is off the veg is the poo firm and decent looking?

She has never had firm poop. We got her about 2.5 weeks ago. When we brought her home, in cage there was iceberg lettuce, no guinea pig food (they ran out the day before) and hay cubs. They feed her iceberg "because she liked it" They also never noticed the soft stool.

:( Poor little thing.

So even off the veg it is wet? Is she eating plenty of hay?

Yes. All veggies. her stool started to be more firm, then moved back. She was okay with only eating hay, then started to refuse so I gave her pellets (guinea pig food) . she now eats both.

Are the pellets new? These can upset the tummy if given new ones suddenly. Id stay off veg and keep weighin her to make sure shes eating enough. If not, step in with syringe feeding. Might be a good idea to start probiotics too.

Shes probably just upset from a poor diet before coming to u, if it doesnt settle, see the vet again x

I don't know what she was fed before. The previous owner didn't seem to know much about guinea pigs. I figure it is a poor diet from before. They weighted her at the vet and we go back this coming Wed. The vet said everything else looked good but the stool.
Probiotics? I am in the States. I went to a pet store they don't have it. Do you know what to look for here? I can buy on Amazon and ship it (2 day free shipping)

Examples include pro-c, fibreplex, aviproplus, biolapis.. You should be able to order these from amazon of your vet may stock some x
