Hi all I want to add something to my pigs diet as they awlways squeaking for more food even when they got nuggets in there bowl they current diet is
Hay
Burgess excell mint nuggets
Vegetables and fruit
Pea flakes as a treat before I cover them up
I’m looking at adding readi grass or graze on in there diet which is better also do anyone else’s pigs always squeak for food all the time ?

Not heard of graze on but readi grass should be given as a treat not daily due to high calcium conten
Yes :)) ours are always asking for food if they Hear me in kitchen or touch the chopping board lol

Readigrass is more of a treat food as its very rich compared to hay. I dont think it could ne fed everytime they wheek for extra food! You might be better getting some different hays? Mine get meadow hay in bulk but they get a big handful of timothy hay each after their meals. And also whenever they are wheeking obsessively and it isnt meal times!

We have a bit of readigrass twice a week in the playpen, on days when they get a meal of scatterfed veggies in hay on the floor or hidden in cardboard boxes and hidey tunnels and toys rather than pellets in a bowl.
They do never stop wheeking for food, Tallulah-oolah-woolah is the queen of the ear splitting desperate wheek of starvation 5 minutes after she's eaten a big dinner, and that sets all the piggies off wheeking, but usually I just give her a handful of timothy hay or an edible toy and she settles down eventually!

Only when you touch the chopping board? I'm sure all I need to do is think about touching it and they all start. My mum's been feeding them the past two weeks so no doubt they aren't happy I'm home to give them proper rations

I use both readigrass and graze on,grazeon is very finely chopped.readigrass is softer.readigrass calcium content is 0.5 per cent.i give a small bowl between 4.

My piggies are eagerly awaiting the arrival of my piggy sitting daughter "apple lady" when we go away on monday! I will prepare well balanced veggies for 3 days all clearly labelled in a seperate tupperware box for each meal, which they will be fed all of in the first 12 hours then it will be unlimited apples :) she always worties they are hungry...
