Hi there
I was just wondering what you all thought of readigrass? I've never actually got any, but I might be interested in trying it out with my pigs. They would still obviously get to graze on the grass in good weather, but I'm not sure if we will have much of that and when the weather isn't so good, it would be nice if they could still have some grass. So, what do you all think about it? Would you recommend it?
Thanks

Edit -
(I think I should have perhaps put - 'would your pigs recommend it?')

My pig's LOVE Readigrass but it's high in calcium, I noticed that pigs where leaving white calcium spots in the cage. I stopped giving it, if you do give it I would give in moderation - twice a week perhaps.

Although many people give it daily this is just my opinion :).

Thanks for the reply - I did do a bit of reading up about it and I saw that some people had said that it was high in calcium. I'd probably only be giving it once a week and then fresh veggies etc. :)

Hi. I give it to my Piggies but only as a treat every now and then. I tend to mix it in with their hay and scatter it on their cage and pen floor to give them a chance to have a rummage!

Mine have it every three days with their hay, they LOVE it, they have all been a bit upset since we moved here but the other night I got the Readigrass out and got lots of happy wheeks!

I wouldn't feed it every day though, and I only feed a handful per two piggies with their hay so they have to work a bit to find it hehe.

Its no higher than leafy greens in terms of calcium , its lower than spinach and cabbage for example. So feed the same as you would leafy greens, mine get it 2x a week :-)

This is probably a very silly question mallethead :red.Where do you all get your Readigrass? I mean where should I look for it? and is it the same stuff as for horses?/

I get mine from a local equine place, and yes it is exactly the same as horsey readigrass :) my local sells small bags for piggies and bunnies, I buy a giant bale anyway though.
