Preparing for a big snowstorm, and of course the place I live is in the center of it and my area is showing to get the worst of it. 😬 Piggies are keeping warm with a blanket tent and a bunch of toasty bedding. The heating upstairs is already not the greatest so they have their own space heater. If my power goes out for a few days I guess I'm busting out the temporary cages and we're having a sleepover in the living room where the gas fire place is 🫡. Bring it on snowstorm fern!

I was wondering what an electric blanket would be like used as an overhanging roof. Of course you would have to be very careful of it's being chewed.

If the power is down at least you have plan b with the gas fire 🥰

I hope the storm won’t cause any problems - keep warm 🥰

Hi

I am very sorry and keeping my fingers crossed. It looks massive, covering such a large part of Canada and the USA right down to Texas. :(

Rather than tents, if you have doggie soft vetbed fleece or a double layer of a microfleece fleece blanket, just put that on the floor with a tunnel entrance and let them snuggle and burrow underneath that. It's much warmer for them to doze the cold night away.

Cut a couple of door openings into a cardboard box with a lid and loosely fill it with hay - again this makes an ideal snug with extra insulation.
