I Was just wondering if any of you guys use ready grass aswell as greens?

i have a couple of friends who use it at this time of year, because their guineas cant get out on the lawn?

xx

I use readi grass all year round,my lot love it

Can you give this as a replacement for some veg? And do you give hay as well as ready grass? We have a horse supplier in Liverpool down the road from me and they should have it. Mine aren't on grass at the mo and I feel like I'm depriving them!

Found some at a horse shop in Widnes £9.00 for 18KG. Sounds good!

Never heard of Ready Grass. As the pigs can't go out on the grass cos of the weather I have been crawling round the garden on my hands and knee's cutting grass with scissor's. We can't just pull it out because the dog tore up all the grass last year and it's only just coming back, so if you pull it out, all the roots and mud comes with it ::) Neighbours think i'm mad. 98)

Readigrass/Just grass etc should be fed as well as greens/grass and hay. Try growing your own grass and save your knees ;D

I thought it was just me then... ;D ;D ;D

My lot adore readigrass and just grass too. I feed a bowl in the morning with veggies, hay and pellets ;D

My three love readi grass, I also buy them Oxbrow Orchard Grass as a special treat but it's much more expensives (ssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhh don't tell them but I bought them a big 4kg bale for Christms!)

I think we must all be as mad as each other, because I'm on my hands pulling up grass, but i just thought this might save my knees alittle!

Mine all wheek when they hear my feet crunching on the stones outside the shed. ;D

Mine all love readigrass :) This time of year the grass does not grow and does not hold as much nutritional value as it does in the summer months if any.

I don't think so I looked today ;D

Horse feed shops shoudl have it. Google Readigrass I think Spillers makes it and you can find a stockist that way. :)

I give my two readigrass, they weren't keen to start with but they eat it now.I just give each a handful a day. :)

Mine have it all year round...not so much if they have been on the grass all day but if it's raining and especially in the winter they have it everyday :smitten:

Mine love Just Grass and it's good value for a big bag (can't remember the price as I give my Dad the money and he gets it for me - give him £20 a week for them)

I have a farm shop that does it! that where my bales of hay and everything else comes from!.

They see me walking in and the bloke behide the till always says

"Alright love, got through that hay already, how many you got now?" ;D ;D ;D

Can i sneak in! he always spots me and shouts it!

Many invest in some readi grass when I'm there next week. It seems more popular than i thought!

lol! when my wendy was poorly a few months ago the vet said that the best thing to try and get her to start eating again would be grass so i was out on the lawn at 8pm with my scissors in the pitch black on my knees! i was praying the neighbours wouldnt spot me!

;D my neighbours just think I do strange things ::)
Its the normal for them to see me following the ducks up the field,or to have a goat in hot persuet of me and the dogs or for me to be collecting dandilions or branches off trees for the goats the list goes on lol

This isn't quite related to Guinea pigs but, talking of doing strange things the other week it was my neighbours birthday, the big 40 and his partner asked of i was up for decorating the house for her so armed with banners and balloons I snuck out at 4am I chucked the ballons in the wheelie bin for unril I needed them thinking that as it was bin day the next day the bin would be full, it wasn't so I had to tip the bin on its side and climb in it while atired in bright pink pyjamas. I ssssooooooo hope no on saw me!

LMAO Tommiesmam

My lot love redigrass I get it from p@h or jollies, 2.99 ish a bag. They all go mental when they hear the bag come out and when I put it in the cage Amber annoys all the other pigs as she likes to roll in it ::) ::) ::)

I buy either Dodson and Horrell Just Grass or Spillers Readigrass by the bale, the small bags don't even last a week.
They absolutely love it their bowls are always empty. :)

I brought a bale yesterday from my farm shop for £10.00. It smells really nice! Mind you I'm pregnant so have funny Tastes atm!

As soon as i put it in the girls went Mad, in fact Jazz my Abby pretty much threw herself out of the hutch into the bale bag! I couldnt put it in quick enough for them!

They were wheeking and running around like lunnys! if anyone could here, which you prob could because there not the quietest girls! they would have thought i was murdering them!

everytime the shed door opens now they all line up waiting! and if they here bags rustling god help me!
