Can somebody tell me where I can get Ready Grass from? Also if anybody can tell me whats in it...if its a hay thing or an alfalfa thing and the nutrience in it, or if you know of a good alfalfa product.

I'm looking to buy it in bulk so if there's a place to order it online that would be a huge help!

Thanks

Readigrass

Hi

Readigrass is sold by Spillers and if you look their site up on the Web there is a list of suppliers who stock it, not sure if they deliver. I used to bed both my girls on hay, but because they kept on getting mites was advised to bed them on Readigrass. One of my piggies developed stones and as I discovered that it is high in calcium I feel that it caused, or at least, contributed to their development. Since then I have gone back to using hay and touch wood, she now seems to be a lot better. Hope this has been of help to you.

You can get it from horse feed suppliers, It is no longer Spillers but Friendly Estates. It is dried grass and most piggies love it. Alfalfa is not very good for pigs.

Mine absolutely love it. I give them a handful at night and they like it as much as their fresh veggie! I wouldn't use it to replace hay nor feed it in the same quantities as hay.

I am suspecting that we might have to! I'm not sure about the process involved in making Readigrass but I would think that it is probably cut and brought in (like silage) rather than dried in the field like hay.
Now, anyone want to place their bets on how dry anyone’s hay crop has been this year ? The farmer who provides our hay is still sitting looking at fields of long soggy grass (Yorkshire).
Yes - the pigs love it. I don't think that it is suitable for bedding though and so possibly this year fleece + Readigrass migt be the best option.

As someone else said readigrass is no longer made for Spillers. You can still purchass it made by friendly estates. They do a bale and a small bag. The last Bale I had was not as nice as when it was under the spillers lable. So i tried Graze on which was nicer but in a much smaller Bale.
