Lottie and Harriet are blood Sisters, born here and Mum only had these two, so they've had their whole lives together and seem extremely close. I thought the behaviour in the video was very interesting and not something I've seen before, I've had many piggies and never seen this.

They genuinely seem to be showing affection, they meet up like this multiple times a day, lay next to each other and groom/barber and snuggle with each other. You can see by how rough their coats are that they barber each other way too often!

Is this really a bonded love thing, or does it mean something else?

It is bonded love; cherish it if you come across it!

I've seen it in mixed gender pairs and with best friends in larger groups. I've had loving sisters and warring sisters - the same you get in human relationships. ;)

What beautiful girls. That behaviour looks ver much like the sisters I have who are very closely bonded and love to play together as well as that same affectionate nuzzling

Aww, that is wonderful to hear that they are showing affection! It did look that way to me but I thought since animals are so complicated, maybe it meant something else lol! I am so happy they love each other so much, their Mum sadly died 6 months ago and since then this affection and barbering has accelerated, perhaps they are grieving and making each other feel better? Their Mum used to do this to them all the time, even as adults, so it looks like learned behaviour they are just doing on each other now that Mum isn't there. Which is a really sad situation to me but at least they have each other and always will :)

You are so privileged! Xx

That is such a tender video to see. Genuine affection. Gorgeous girls.

Awwwwww, so wonderful to see. Our first piggies were sisters and had such a strong bond

A really heart warming video  of your beautiful girls

Their coats look absolutely terrible though, they are trying to make each other short haired! Is this alright to let happen even on this scale? Silly question but can piggies get hairballs? :))
