Really Cold Tap Water

our water is sooooo cold. can i add a dash of boiled water to it for the piggies bottles?
 
:DYes. Really cold water can upset their tums, as can veg straight from the fridge. Let it reach room temperature.

thank you. i did wonder if it could upset them. noticed their poops smell a bit stronger at the moment. might be the water or could be the veg - it's so poor quality at the moment and is a real struggle to get any half decent :(
 
:D I always take the piggie's veg out of the fridge first before I do my own breakfast. Then it can warm up a bit while I eat my toast. Same with their water, which is filtering while I eat my brekkie.

well my plan is always to wash it and then leave it for a bit before feeding... but benjie bites the bars until he gets it so it's difficult. he's actually bent the grid he pulls it so much :blink: he's not patient to say the least when it comes to food! :)) i try to do it sneakily but he always knows :roll: :))
 
:D Feather is the same. If she knows its about brekkie time and it hasn't arrived fast enough, she rattles the bars! The little minx!

he's food mad! he never wants to nibble anything else though, just the bars :roll: i know he's just trying to let me know they need something, but i'm worried sometimes that his teeth will be bent the opposite way to the bars :blink:
 
Funny you should pose this question ,
l was only noticing today how my pigs nearly alwasy go for the fresh bottle of water,
its like they prefare it cool rather than the stuff at room temp !

Your question ! add a dash of warm water to the cold, ! l dont see why

mollie always drinks as soon as i put the new water there and it must be freezing but she seems to like it. i think i'll add that dash of boiled water though because even i can't drink it, it's that cold.
 
we got a glass jug so i'm now putting the water in that and then doing the rest of the cage cleaning, then by that time, i can pour it into the bottles and it's enough just to take that really cold chill off :)
 
i've been using the glass jug to wash veggies in now aswell :)) fill it, cover with a plate :)) and leave it for about 15mins, then wash the veggies in it before feeding. seems to help alot with taking the edge of the very cold water :)
