I have Ping home now and he hasn't eaten almost all day. He is not interested in the dandelions or clover I gave him. He is so doped up and sleepy. He was neutered at noon and its almost 6pm now. Should he still be so sleepy?

Should I be worried about him not eating? THe Vet gave me some critical care to give him later if he is still not eating.

I'm so worried about him. He only could feebly rumblestrut at Lou-Lou thru the bars. :(

He's started eating! Yay! He has ate pellets, hay, green peppar and carrot, but very slowly. He still looks groggy but he seems perkier.

If his appetite is low I would start giving him critical care. I had to syringe one of my boys after neutering, his appetite was very low. Was for a few days until he started doing it on his own.

Keep a close eye!

I agree with Lisa, it's worth giving a syringe-feed even if only the one or two feeds is necessary to spark his appetite, just help to get his strength up, make sure he is getting enough in him. A few pigs do seem to lose their appetite after anaesthetics.

that happened with my old guinea pig but it was a girl and she obvioulsy didn't get neutered rolleyes but have you tried sitting him on your lap and putting the food right up to his mouth?
i did that and she was just too lazy to eat it herself!!:))
