Rearranging cage

Hi guys just thought I'd ask for your thoughts on rearranging things on your piggies's cages

How often do you rearrange things in your piggies's cages? And do you tend to change their main hideaway position when you do? I have read mixed messages about rearranging cages. Some say you can rearrange but leave where their main hideaways in the same position, some say it should be fine to rearrange completely.

I am also planning on rotating some accessories on their cage: permanently they have a tunnel and 2 hideaways but I am planning to rotate hammock, tunnel and semi-closed cuddle cup as I don't want to overcrowd their cage. how often do you guys think I should I rotate this? :)

Some piggies can get upset by rearranged cages but most (in my experience) enjoy a change. I tend to change things round a bit when I do the big cage cleans every 5 days. I do leave their main hideys in the same place though. At poop pick times I often add a paper bag or box stuffed with hay or some other enrichment to amuse them, especially on days when they haven't been able to have a lawn trip.

One big proviso is with boar pairs who tolerate each other but are not very closely bonded. Any change including changing all bedding at the same time can cause dominance behaviour and fall outs. Always change part bedding on different days with these guys!
 
I change mine around every few days. Mine have always loved it and run around like it’s a new cage. Guess just see what works for your piggies.
