Rebonding Christian with Velvet & Meg

Christian has brightened up no end in the last 24 hours so when I get home I am thinking I may well put him back with Velvet and Meg on Wednesday. I have read the guides on here but am worried that he may not be accepted back. Velvet and Meg have been out of sorts since I had to separate them so here's hoping they'll accept him back easily.
 
Wishing you good luck, I hope all goes well and they welcome him with open paws. You've read the guides and know what you are doing. I can't add any more other than to say when Bracken had been away from Rusty for 2 days having his op they went straight back together with no problems.
 
When my Eliza had her eye removed, she had complications and was separated from her 3 friends for nearly 10 weeks. When I first bonded her back, I did so on neutral territory. I was very scared at first but they accepted her back no problem although she was now at the bottom of the hierarchy. Hopefully it’ll be the same for Christian but in the grand scheme of things, he really hasn’t been away for very long x

You should know very quickly if it is going to work out or not.
Please always reintroduce on neutral ground that is not part of any of your piggies' regular territory.

Sounds like a great plan. Just make sure it’s in neutral territory and see how they all react to each other. With any luck the ladies will be thrilled to have him back again.
 
When Donald had his op and daisy accompanied him I think it was just over a week they were separate from lily and Poppy. I was really anxious but apart from a little bit of grumbling between daisy and lily there were no problems and they soon settled down again. I hope Christians reintroduction is as uneventful
 
So pleased Christian is feeling better, hope the reintroduction goes well, how could the girls resist him :love:
 
Thanks everyone. Velvet and Meg haven't been the same without him and he has been clearly missed so I hope they will welcome him back.

If Christian weighs the same tomorrow morning (Wednesday) as he did this morning (Tuesday) I'll put him back in with the girls tomorrow. He weighed in at 980g this morning. Yesterday he weighed 984g after breakfast top up feed. So I haven't topped him up at all today as that is the only way I can tell if he is eating properly for himself. I'll let you know tomorrow morning if he is going in with the girls. He has lost a lot of muscle around his bum and he is very thin there. As this seems to be where he hurt himself and he has been on strict cage rest it's hardly surprising. He is going back to the vet Thursday morning.
 
Sorry @Betsy . I have missed alot about christian. I dont have time to read through. But is he ok now? Hope he is 👍

He is alot brighter and is walking better. When he just sits around his back legs are under him properly now instead of being splayed out behind.

This is great news. I couldn't be happier for Christian. Hope he gets his girls back though. :tu:
 
Well Christian is 2g lighter than he was this time yesterday and was asking for his Metacam at precisely 7am this morning. How do they know the time?🤔 So after I have been to Sainsbury's I'll set up the indoor pen with a clean mattress protector for a base so that nothing smells of anyone. They haven't been in the indoor pen for about 6 weeks and only go in it rarely so it won't be seen as anyone's territory. Should I introduce Christian to Velvet and Meg? or Velvet and Meg to Christian? is there a proper way to do these re-introductions? I want to to things properly.

gosh I can't help I would think Christian 1st all the best lass. me and me girls senf you :luv:
 
30 mins into the rebonding and all seems to be going well. Christian went in first then Meg and then Velvet. It took precisely 30 seconds for Christian's tiny brain to register GIRLS and he immediately started chasing Meg and trying to mount her. She was having none of it so he tried his luck with Velvet. We have had warning nips and a lot of chatter but so far no hackles raised or threatening behaviour. They have eaten from the same hay pile a couple of times. Christian has bum sniffed and bum licked both girls and they let him. He tried to push up Velvet's nose but she wouldn't let him. We have had no wee spraying so far so neither girls are seriously pi**ed of with Christian. Velvet quickly groomed Christian around the eyes but not seen that from Meg yet. Hopefully the sigs are there so that they go back together again.
 
We have had successful mating between Christian and Velvet so that bond is now re-established. Just have to hope Meg lets him so far she hasn't but they are next to each other at the hay pile and she has let Christian groom her a bit so hopefully it won't be long.
