Margot seems to do well on a grain free pellet (her poos are much more 'normal'), so I put them on Vitakraft grain free from Zooplus. But the pellets are enormous and make a terrific mess as they crumble everywhere as they're eaten. I can cope with the mess but the piggies do seem to struggle a little with the size. Can anyone recommend another grain free pellet that we could try?

The only other grainless pellet I am aware of is in the Rosewood Naturals range ...

Meadow Menu Guinea Pig 2kg :: Rosewood Pet

... and available from various online suppliers

Every pellet I come across seems to have one ingredient I am not sure about - and, in the case of this pellet - it's Yucca .

All the pellets listed above are good (dont have any experience with rosewood one) but they are all large pellets that need broken up (bar the rosewood one!) so that may be something you want to try x

I feed my Amos who is now 2 years old on Bunny. His poops are enormous but solid. He only needs 5 of the Bunny pellets a day so they may be expensive but the 4 kg package lasts a long time. So (if I was good at maths) they are probably a lot cheaper than ordinary pellets.

Thank you everyone. I had seen the others on Zooplus but they also looked huge! It's a shame they're all such large bags and you can't try a small pack first. Never mind - I'll have to just bit the bullet and give each one a try until we find a good one. I have the say that the Vitakraft ones smell lovely and the piggies seem to quite like them. It's just a pity they're so HUGE!

:D I give my girls a few of the Meadow Menu pellets every morning. They seem to look forward to them, even though they have Harrington's available all the time. The Yukka does not seem to have done them any harm, it is in such small quantities. I may swap them over to the Menu permanently, sometime in the future.

I had some lovely folk on the forum send me samples of the grainfree pellets on Zooplus so I could choose the best option -- maybe you could put out a similar call? They're all so crumbly is the only thing, my boys don't seem to mind they are massive!
