Could anyone please recommend a pet carrier for guinea pigs? We've only ever used a large cardboard box (designed to be used for pets) for the short trips to the vets near us but we now need to take them to the exotics vet further afield.
Thank you for this - I’ve been looking at them because I wondered about the water bottle possibility. Which size did you get? I think it’s 19 inch or 23, but the base is raised around the edge so the usable space must be less.I got a decent one from amazon.. you can fix a small water bottle to the door which I like.. Amazon Basic one.
Thank you. That’s really helpful. There is actually a guide to travelling with piggies here:

Thank you. This is all helpful.Just to add that unless it is a very long trip I personally wouldn't attach a water bottle. Far better to add in some lettuce or cucumber for water if it's only an hour or two.
In my experience water bottles often leak being jostled about, and can create a wet spot in the carrier.
They really will be fine without water unless it is a very long trip or a boiling hot day.
It will be 2 piggies together as I don’t want to stress them by leaving one at home whilst the other goes to the vet.How many piggies are you putting in at a time? Each of our eight have a seperate
Carrier for safety while traveling it is easy to clean and folds flat when not in use has a handle and shoulder strap as well and you can get at the local pet store.
I got 23" one.. xThank you for this - I’ve been looking at them because I wondered about the water bottle possibility. Which size did you get? I think it’s 19 inch or 23, but the base is raised around the edge so the usable space must be less.
