Evening all,

My little man had a chest infection type thing and the vet gave me Baytril to give to him. I gave him 0.8mg of it for 9 days when I ran out.

He is happy, popcorning, eating loads, drinking loads so I think it has worked. However, he is still doing a lot of mini sneezes (nothing like he was when first seen by the vet) and his sounds still don't sound as clear as they were when he was healthy.

I know when we are ill we take a while to get rid of all the symptoms, is this the same with GP's? Or do you guys think I should get more Baytril?

i think you should take him back to the vets to see what they say just incase he does need somemore:Dxxx

Thanks for your advice Jane, I really appreciate you taking the time to help :) Took him back to the vet this morning, got some more Baytril and some powder stuff to put on his food which will apparently thin the mucus and clear up the rattling :) fingers crossed! xx

That'll be bisolven powder, its a mucolytic, helps remove any mucous from the respiratory tract. I hope your little guy feels better soon. If more baytril doesnt help, maybe ask your vet to try a different antibiotic as the infection may be resistant to the baytril.

Thanks for the advice :) I'll keep an eye on him, if there are no changes by Tuesday I'm going to take him back up and get another antibiotic. I have high hopes for the bisolven powder, as from what you and the vet have described sounds like that is going to make the world of difference.

Now just to try and convince him to take the baytril again! xx

that powder stuff is brilliant, it really helped with the rats,
Good luck
xx
