Hey,
So one of our piggies Nilla seems to constantly get URI’s. We have taken him to the vet 3 times within just under a year with a rattle type of hooty breathing. Each and every time we take him we are given antibiotics and anti-inflammatory meds (can’t quite remember what they’re called) for a week and it clears up after 3-4 days although we obviously continue with the meds until the prescription is up.
The things is he is absolutely fine every time, no other symptoms at all. It’s just the breathing.
I’m starting to wander, could be be allergic to the bedding (wood shavings from pets at home) or the hay we give them (Timothy hay, again pets at home)?
I’m going to trial using fleece bedding and potentially mix up the hay as he only started this after we changed the bedding up.
Obviously i’m still going to take him back to the vets (despite his breathing being absolutely fine today) but any advice or thoughts out be appreciated!
