Red Ants

I've had the crew out on the grass this evening. We had a visit to the vets so put them out afterwards. Melody had her hair cut while we were there but they went a bit mad when I said 'as sort as you can' and she now looks like Dolly the skinny pig (minus massive babies)!

I wanted to get a photo of her so was laying on the grass trying to get a photo of her when I got bitten. It was a red ant and it REALLY hurt. There seems to be a few but I can't find an obvious nest. I am worried now in case any of the guineas get bitten as it hurt me a lot and took half an hour to subside.

Does anyone else have this problem and how can I get rid of them?

Hmmmm, don't know to be honest. I've got red ants in a certain part of the lawn so I never put the wheekers there, but I should imagine it can't be good for them. Not sure what to do about getting rid of them...might need some investigating...
