I have had a few people come to look at Rescues and they see a lovely Piggy then suddenly go noooo its got red eyes :o

Its got me thinking,How many of you dont like red eyes and why not.
I personaly dont have a Problem with red eyes
 
I haven't got any with red eyes but i dont have a problem with them, i actually quite like red eyes.

I don't like red/pink eyes personally.

I think they look kind of evil with them. I know they're not but you know.
Dont shout at me cos I'm sure theres lot of gorgeous piggies with red eyes.
I wouldnt not take one in that needed to be rescued.
I'm not sure
 
To me a guinea pig is a guinea pig in any colour shape or form and TBH I hardly even notice red eyes now.
I think It actualy adds Character to them
 
1 of mine has red eyes and they make her look so pretty. :)
I would never let the colour of a piggies eyes put me off adopting them. People are just far to picky, So many people go to a rescue centre wanting a specific breed or colour of piggy and would rather go away empty handed than adopt a piggy that genuinely needs a new home.
 
My Ruby got her name from her red eyes. I think they are beautiful, except in photographs! The flash makes them glow!
 
When I used to 'choose' my pigs I never went for red eyes. Don't mind now though :)

I get that too always from adults about red eyes, Chocolate pigs are avoided here too- can't rehome them for love nor money. Probably ruby eyes again ::) Whites I don't have problems with, but no one ever wants chocs :(
 
I never liked red eyes and would stay away from piggies that had them, then I saw little Shauny ( Yep sorry LJ & MaryH - this is his final name ;D) he was a tiny little pink eyed texel and they seemed to suit him, make him look more angelic, ha! >:D anyway I do like them now even though its seems I was right - they are devil eyes! >:D
 
Aw i love chocs :( i'll have them karen :) i think its an adult thing too, my mum doesnt like red eyes xx
 
two of my beautiful piggies have red eyes, star who is in my profile picture, is the most cheekiest guinea pig i have, he's adorable, such a character, and maisy is my lilac, she is shy but sooooooo pretty.
 
I LOVE red eyes i have 2 with red eyes i think and a really dark eyed eye which maybe ruby or something not too sure ::)
I just dont no why people dont like red eyes theres notyhing wrong with them at all, the more special they are id say ;D
 
Not something I'd thought about, don't think it would bother me though. :)
 
Now PEW are impossible to get homes for here.I have a sow in here who is in with a dutch miss mark and the number of people who have asked will I split them as they dont like PEWs :o but They have always been together so they will never be split up
 
One of my piggies has red eyes and she's lovely. The one with brown eyes is a little devil though! >:D I know it puts some people off though because when I got my piggies they'd been there for ages and I think that was mainly to do with the fact one of them had red eyes

Ahhh that is sad, they dont even know her personality its like you cant jusdge a book by its cover :(

I could fall in love with a chocolate pig with ruby eyes :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
I find it really odd that they are hard to rehome

I need a bigger house first though :(
 
I didnt like red eyes until I met a piggie called Blossom she was so cute it changed my mind, I now go for the piggies I fancy and it doesnt matter if they have red eyes.
 
Any colour, any shape, doesn't matter to me I love them all. When we collected Jazz from GBH Rescue in Beckenham Jacky had just had a couple of litters of PEW and was worried about rehoming them - she said they are always overlooked. We have two pink eyed piggies at the moment :smitten:
 
I dont think it makes a difference at all. There still piggie what ever colour eyes they have :)
 
I too love red/pink eyes. O0 I have 2 PEW's & i think bijou has ruby eyes - it doesn't matter to me what colour the pig is, what colour the eyes are - i love 'them all :smitten:
 
I don't have any red eyd pigs. But I'm not against them, it's just how it worked out. Actually Twinkle and Fleur have almost blue eyes and in the light they almost look red!

I had an albino rabbit called harvey as a child. Didn't give it a thought about the eyes!

Digby has pink eyes and I think thats why he was in the rspca for sooooo long, well all those potential adopters missed out on a fab piggy who gives so much he is a darling and the friendliest piggy I have ever met :smitten:

I hate the fact people can be so petty about such a small thing for goodness sake ::) ::) its one of those things that gets right up my nose I have to say!

My eldest son is called Shaun and we all call him Shauny ;D

I don`t mind red eyes at all, Timmy`s eyes look red in some lights. I know I chose Sunny for Timmy because he was shy but if I could I would have taken all three, they were adorable. One of those was a brown coronet with pink eyes..beautiful!
 
I don't understand why people don't like, or are even scared of red eyes. Am I being thick :~D.
My piggie has red eyes and I think she's G O R G E O U S! :smitten:
 
We have one with red eyes.
I did not think I would like one with red eyes, but when I saw her at the rescue home I fell in love with her and had to have her, she is so cute :smitten:
 
I just wish everyone who came to look at rescues felt the same as you lot ::)
 
I personally couldn't give a stuff what my pigs looked like, what would matter to me when I take on a new pig is taking a piggy that really needs a new forever home where he is going to get the love and care they so richly deserve.

PS call me dumb but whats a PEW piggy?
