Hi everyone !

I recently took Lily to thee vet and she said that her paws are slightly to the red side, but that it isn't anything dangerous. However, she did recommend applying some cream if we wanted to. Has any one had any similar issues? And if so what cream helped?

Hi! You may find Gorgeous Guinea foot cream helpful: Ointments

I would imagine urine causing red feet if they on fleece etc.... Gorgeous guinea foot balm is great

My vet is very much against using any creams unless the feet are in very poor condition. A bit of redness is normal and the best cause of action is to try to keep the cage a bit cleaner.

My boy had red feet and I started to put a little mat under where he sleeps and changing it every other day or so. His feet are back to pink now.

Hey everyone, I was waiting a bit to see if it gets better just with trying to keep the floor cleaner but it doesn't seem to have helped much. I read about sudafed cream? would you guys recommend that or GG creams? I uploaded a photo so you can see what I am referring to.
Thanks a lot for helping

@caroline081 I'd still be inclined not to use anything as her foot isn't very red at all.

My vet says that if we use lotions and cream on their feet we are over moisturising them and possible opening their pores to allow dirt and infections in. Unless there is a severe case of urine scald or bumblefoot I'd leave it alone.

that's really good to know. Thank you, I haven't applied any cream and won't be doing so after learning about this

I can't find a good clear photo of pink footed piggy but you can kind of see in this photo that it's normal for their feet to be a little bit redder than the rest of them @caroline081

@caroline081 How's her feet doing?

The colour is the same as in the photo but she is running about happily so I don't think she is in any discomfort and I have been changing their bedding with more frequency to see if that helps in any way :)

Thanks for asking!
