I have kept a flat stuffed duck with guinea-pig-ish eyes in Red's cage to keep him company of sorts, or at least just to give him something to look at. I usually put it on top of the door to his house, sometimes on the roof. He takes it down when nobody is looking and moves it around.
Here is Red coming out of the house, to show that he doesn't knock it off just by hitting the door:
