redi grass anyone?

Hi does anyone feed their pigs this stuff?

Would you consider it suitable for guinea pigs? I recently got some from my friend who has horses and the pigs went mad for it (I mixed some into their food).

My pigs are a year old now and are predominantly grass feeders from late spring and summer and have lived outside on grass full time since late spring until recently. They have just come inside and have heaps of hay and fresh nibbles and have some hard food. Their intake of hard food has really increased since they are no longer ad lib on fresh grass. I thought this stuff mixed into their daily diet would be great for them....is this ok? thanks
 
It's ok for them but I prefer feeding sparingly as it's high in Calcium. My pig's go mad for it too!

I've fed this to my chinchillas for years with no problems. I've offered it to my piggies but they weren't that bothered. They like Timothy hay. I find it very convenient to feed as it doesn't make as much mess as normal hay.
 
We use graze on which is the same. I get it rom a local stables for £7, it's a large bag and lasts ages. I only give them a couple of handfuls a week though-it's a treat for them and they love it.
 
Redi grass is great and my piggies get some every day. It is better than Grazeon which tends to be browner and not so sweet smelling. Friendship estates is a very ethical company and well worth supporting,as is the CO-op.

PS I have never had any urinary tract problems with my piggiesbut they do get lots of vegvies every day including cucumber . Just make sure they plenty of water or juicy veg as redigrass is dry,
 
Yes, I feed this. My current pigs absolutely love it and will eat a bowl between them every day. As Christine says it is dry so I do give cucumber to balance out the dryness. They like cucumber too. In fact I have yet to find a food they don't like.
I always used to cut fresh grass for my pigs but when winter comes this can be a tricky business if the garden is a foot deep in snow! I have been known to dig down to get grass for the pigs but now I have readigrass I shan't need to do this, phew!

My graze on is very green-definately not brown.
It smells and looks and smells just like blades of green grass-only dried.
 
It's NOT particularly high in calcium, that just seems to be an urban myth. Think about it logically it's only freeze dried grass.

Mine get it mixed up with their pellets, they go mad for it. Same with my buns as well.
 
My guys also love Readigrass, I mix some in with their pellets. They also like Just Grass which is quite similar but funnily enough they don't like Graze On which I liken more to Christmas tree needles! It is quite sharp to the touch and doesn't have the same grassy smell as the other two.

Funnily enough I was chatting to my vet about calcium and readigrass and she also said as it was just dried grass she couldn't see how it could be high in calcium. Having said that my ethos is everything in moderation so the piggies don't get too much.
