Here is how the cage is situated in the garage.

This is the dog carrier he was recently living inside. Above that is an end view of the live trap that was Red's first enclosure.

This is a view from the other end of the garage, loking toward where the garage door should be. There was an awful lot of popcorning going on, which caught Muttley's attention.

I should have been more specific by saying that is the first one *I* put him in. The very first, the plastic, urine-soaked guinea pig hell, I immediately put in a plastic bag and took to the dump. The "awful" live trap there is just the end view. If I showed the side view everyone would see that it is approximately 18 inches (45.72 cm) deep. That is the one I used when I was figuring out what I had that would be suitable. I knew that nothing could get in to harm him in the live trap. I put him in there, put the trap on the grass (before I knew they ate hay and grass), and made haste to find this forum to find out what to do next! So it is not as terrible as it seems at first.

Thank you for thinking so; I try hard. It is the way it is from necessity; I am a disabled military veteran (I joined the US Air Force back during the Vietnam War when there weren't many women in the military), and I need to keep things a certain way to have access to them as most days I do quite well but some days it is difficult to get something out of the mix. It can be better; occasionally I purge my belongings, giving to the local women's shelter thrift shop the things that are perfectly good but that I have not thought about in a year, or things that I have set aside for a use but it has become apparent that the use will never come to pass.

Anyway, I got the bright idea to use my dog cage (one of the dogs used it as her "cave," and she is at a loss for what to do, but she is adjusting) instead of building something right away, so I just scooted over the things on the workbench and put the cage up there.

Ah, "Muttley" - I named HER after her predecessor, Muttley, a tiny male rat terrier/chihuahua mix who WAS named after the cartoon. The name suited her, too. Tweety has that name because as a pup he was such a sweetie, accepting of anything people did to him. Tatiana came pre-named; I would never stick a name like that on a dog. She was found starving, and I rescued her, and when I had her scanned for an identification chip, she had one that said her name is Tatiana. (Her original owner was a soldier who had gone to Iraq, and the person to whom that soldier gave Tatiana dropped the ball or dumped her or something and the dog was found wandering and starving 7 miles from home. All the information of the first party had been deleted, and the information of the second party was invalid so we never could get that person and charge them with abandonment.) Anyway, Tatiana answered to that name, so to avoid confusion, that's what I decided to use. And now there is poor little Redemption, with a name that is longer than he is.
Dogs: Muttley, Tweety, Tatiana
Cats: Kit, Buster, Mama Kitty, Copycat, Boots, Sylvester
Guinea Pig: Redemption
Garage: seems like Animal Planet
