My little Redemption is just getting bigger and bigger, and he can no longer be safely carried in his basket (I am afraid I will drop him if I carry him in my hands), so tonight I bought him his THIRD carry basket. This one has handles.

Is he a guinea pig or some kind of exotic dog? He's huge!

He's looking amazing, you've done a great job with him!

Exotic dog indeed! With those sideburns and wild hair he does look more like a dog than a guinea pig, I think. I told you about the little 1-year-old visitor I had that, when he saw Red for the first time, shouted "Doggie!" I think he is getting so large because I keep fresh food in the cage with him all the time and two different kinds of piggie pellets (alfalfa and timothy), and I go out into the yard and the field and pick fresh food for him.

hes gorgeous x) just out of curiosity, can i ask what he weighs?
Not long ago I figured he had to be about 4-5 months old this month, and when I weighed him at the beginning of the month (end of last month? I forget) he weighed 1 kg. His wild hair makes him look even bigger than he is. He is rather chunky, though. I'll weigh him again soon, maybe tomorrow.

x) He's looks so cute is his basket, he does look a big boy now. A total credit to your care Pat.

Love the picture, looks like he is saying, "What am I doing in here Mum". Makes me laugh to think that you thought he was a hamster when you first saw him, look at him now.:))

He looks a right cheeky character!
Yes he is; now that my friend taught him to take clovers from the fingertips, if I put my fingers in there without clovers, he bites me.

Just to clear up a misconception: The woman who had baby Redemption at the yard sale in the 90-degree F heat is the one who thought he was a hamster; I recognized immediately a guinea pig in distress (although I did not recognize he was an infant at the time) and I could not leave him behind for I knew the little one would die if I did. SHE sold me a "hamster"; I brought home a guinea piglet. And yes, he did say, "What am I doing in here"? and tried to climb out to go back into the cage.

Wow he looks huge! He is so cute. I love seeing pictures of him. I am a huge fan.x)
