Some of you may be aware that my boy Eddie had a cagemate until recently, by the name of Reggie. He passed away earlier this year on the last day of February, two days before he was due to visit the vet. I found it difficult for many reasons, not least because I had not learned enough about piggies to know he should have gone to the vets far sooner. A great deal else happened that month as well which I won't go into.

Since he died however I have learnt endless amounts of new things about piggies and now have a very vigilant eye on my current three (hopefully soon to be four!). We must all begin somewhere I suppose.

Reggie was a tan and white coronet, a grumpy boy who barely tolerated Eddie! He never enjoyed his baths but he used to love the hairdryer :) He was only four and a half when he died. It's been a while since he passed but only now am I able to post something for him here. Popcorn away Reggie roo, far away from the constant bum sniffing antics of Eddie for now!

I am very sorry for your loss! Over four years is a decent lifespan these days.

Reggie's legacy is your since gained knowledge; it will help you to give any future piggies an even better life. Pet ownership is a lifelong learning curve. You can only do your best at any given time with the information you have available. The important thing is to love and to cherish a piggy while you have it! ;)

Thankyou all. Yes, four years was not so bad for pet shop piggies, and Eddie is still going strong approaching five. Reggie certainly did not lack in love and care :) Particularly from Eddie who used to clean his goopy eyes for him

So sorry for the loss of your little boy. Huge hugs to you at this sad time. x

Sleep well little one
RIP Reggie
