Junior Guinea Pig
Today I found loads of photos of some of my past piggies that are no longer with us (sadface) the memories came flooding back though!
Here a selected few of the photos I found...
This is Tilly <3 she was such a sweet natured girl, our first ever rescue too. She was saved from back to back breeding and she fit right in when we brought her home
This is Pepsi! We adopted her also, she had a bad case of fungal infection when we first got her which the rescue had been treating for quite some time after she was rescued from poor living conditions in the hands of a lazy, careless owner. But as you can see here, she was at her best with such a shiny, healthy coat. Unfortunately, she only lived till the age of 2 after battling poor health for a lot of her life. But I have some very fond memories of her and she is one of the most unique guineas I ever owned, bold as brass she was!
Now, this little one is Truffle! She came to our local rescue having been seized from the same breeder that Tilly came from. She arrived with several siblings and her mother and several other gigs, and she was on pregnancy watch even though she was only a matter of weeks old when they came in to the rescue. I was believe that the breeder kept multiple mothers in the same enclosures and failed to separate the baby boars and therefore, back to back pregnancies were inevitable. Truffle was lucky and was the only one from the litter who had avoided pregnancy and she came to live with us. We saw her when she was 4 weeks old when we saw her and took her home when she was 6 weeks
The morning after we brought Truffle home. (Back in the days I kept piggies outdoors mallethead). This really puts in to perspective how tiny she was, and to think, her sisters were pregnant and also this size makes me sick
Pepsi and Truffle together
Pepsi and Tilly!
I will upload some more photos soon, I didn't realise how late it was! Feel free to upload photos of past or present piggies, I love browsing through pics!
