Reoccurring ringworm?

I have two guinea pigs and so does my sister one of hers was sold to us with ringworm and she was brought in to be treated along with her cage mate. Sadly mine also had to go because they have all played together. The vet is keeping them for thirty days and I decided to do some research while they were gone and was wondering if after they take the treatment if it was possible that it could come back Is that true? Also, has anybody else's guinea pigs had ringworm?

Ringworm can reoccur as can any illness.

How is the vet treating them? Maybe worth speaking to the vet regarding Itrafungal orally. Lots of ringworm info here so please have a good read Ringworm: Hygiene And Pictures

Please take the time to read our ringworm guide. it contains pictures, tips for care and how to prevent a return.
You and your sister will still have to deep clean and disinfect the cages with a vet strength disinfectant like F10 (which is widely available online).

Are your and your sisters guinea pigs living alone and are they the same gender?
Please never put boar and sows togethers; they can mate before you can intervene. It only takes seconds.

Guinea pigs don't do play dates. they live in groups and are not wired to live on their own. Every meeting is a full-on bonding session for them so it is very frustrating and upsetting for them if they are always interrupted. If you cannot keep them together, please consider with your sister that your piggies will be much happier if their cages are next to each other and they can interact safely through the bars for the hours you are at school or not interacting with them.

Please ask the vets about what treatment they have received at the clinic when you bring them back and if necessary give them a bath on their return to make sure that they don't carry any spores in their coat; it has twice caused an outbreak in my herd.
