Flash is one of the poorly rescue pigs that came in recently from very bad conditions. She hadn't had a proper diet or care, so understandably was quite weak. She's been here 3 weeks now and is putting on weight nicely. All pigs were done with ivomec on arrival and again after 10 days ... but despite this, she still has no hair at all on her nose or ears. Her tummy was also completely bald but she is growing back a covering of fine hair (hard to see because she is white).

What could be causing the pink nose/ears? Now she's looking better I've just noticed she's got a bit of a satin sheen to her... she also looks very pink around the eyes.

Her and her sister Flame are also still wobbly on their back legs, although this has improved. They both sit with their legs slightly splayed... :( They can move pretty quickly, just not quite right! Not sure they're going to improve more than they have already, I think they will always be a bit funny on their legs. Here's Flame (the goldy girl).

The other two Spark and Ember are getting on really well, just on pregnancy watch but fairly sure neither were caught, which is great news.

Thanks S&T - was hoping not fungal but I think you might be right. Have got some Gorgeous Guineas stuff to put on it but she hates it on her nose and I can't put it round her eyes... the others are in with her and they are ok, the ivomec worked on them and their hair loss is all back to normal now. Just her!

Oh bless her! What a little sweetie Flash is! x>>

That first photo of her is terrible. She is so underweight. Her nose is kinda cute without hair. Hopefully it will grow back soon with lots of tlc and nutrients.

The first photo is recent - she was much worse than that when she arrived, completely skin and bone and bald. The others have got 'better' much more quickly than she has, I'm still worried about her. She looks really scrawny

oh i am so pleased to hear they are getting better, poor little sweeties, i just cannot believe how cruel people can be.

Hopefully the fur will grow back soon on the nose and ears - if not, shes still such a cutie! x
