Rescuers, rescue supporters & volunteers don't walk on water. We don't wear capes and tights or leap over tall buildings. We aren't better than anyone else but we do pursue a cause that we believe makes us better than we were when we first started. We make mistakes, we feel we can't do enough, we go broke. We have too many guinea pigs at home, we rant out of frustration, we lose our tempers and get snappy, we have to reject people for the good of the guinea pigs. We are not always likeable, what we do is draining, emotionally, physically & financially. Please bear with us and forgive us our flaws because we are doing work that's bigger than we are.

I beg to differ! :))

Rather deep for so early in a morning! :(|)

All rescues do such a great job, I have a huge respect for your commitment. You're all heroes to me! :))

d'oh! see my brain is completely fuddled! I thought you had written it at 6.07AM! Never mind...I'll just crawl back to my corner...mallethead

Being relatively new members of the guinea pig forum and initially not rescue aware it was only by reading about the wonderful work that rescue centres carry out on behalf of needy piggies that we have become educated. We have nothing but complete admiration for the work all the rescue centres do. We have become fully enthralled in following the amazing transformation in rescue piggies from, in some cases very unwell, to vibrant members of new piggy families. We are now just beginning to understand how vital the work that rescue centres do for the overall welfare of piggies.

Our outlook has changed considerably to the point that we would never consider buying a piggy from a pet store or breeder. It would always be rescue from now on.

Saying thanks isnt enough to express how much it is appreciated by us and I'm sure most of the members of this forum. Its not just piggies that are rescued it is the slaves aswell.

Thanks again

Lisa & Ali xx
