Hey,
We're looking to find friends for our piggies (since they're separated now), and was wondering if anybody knew of trusted places preferably in the NYC area where we can try dating? Is that what it's called lol? I've looked on the guinea lynx website but the nearest has been 3+ hours from us... I've already had to convince my family to even try getting them new friends so something closer would probably be the only thing that they would agree to unfortunately.

Aw, so sorry you are having problems finding a good rescue, I can only suggest looking on the Internet and asking local vets if they know of anywhere x

Sadly there are no recommended rescues but there are rescues in NYC; you can find them via pet finder when you google for guinea pig rescues in NYC. You will however have to do your own research and enquiries as their welfare standard and piggy savviness; the quality can vary enormously since anybody can call themselves a rescue (or a breeder and any shade between the two) without licence or supervision in the English speaking world.

Look for whether rehoming criteria are compatible with welfare standards, whether there is an adoption form, whether the rescues have a social media presence and how you feel about them; whether any adopted piggies have undergone a quarantine and had any necessary medical care.

I can ask some online friends of mine from NYC which place they are getting their piggies from if you are willing to wait a couple of days.

Thank you, it’s not urgent so it would be lovely if you could ask your friends!
